The repository of skills for professionals working in the desk reception in Lifelong Career Guidance Centres (LCGC) provides a comprehensive list of skills that are required for front desk receptionists to effectively carry out their responsibilities in an LCGC. The skills are classified into four main categories, namely customer service skills, administrative skills, technical-digital skills, and transversal skills.

  • Customer service skills: active listening, empathy, and problem-solving.
  • Administrative skills: time management, organizational skills, and record-keeping
  • Technical-digital skills: proficiency in computer applications, online communication, and data management.
  • Transversal skills: teamwork, adaptability, and critical thinking.

The repository was developed in response to the impact of the pandemic on the occupational profile of front desk receptionists in LCGCs, which led to the inclusion of new skills required for the delivery of digital services. The repository provides a valuable resource for LCGCs to support and train front desk receptionists to correspond to the European profile of the front desk officer in a Lifelong Career Guidance Center.
